‘Kintsugi’ is a really strange word, it is a Japanese technique for repairing pottery with seams of gold, and means ‘golden joinery’. It repairs the brokenness in a way that makes the object more beautiful, and more unique than it was prior to being broken. Instead of hiding the scars it makes a feature of them.
Life can often feel like those broken pots. The stress and demands of modern living can take their toll on our mental health and wellbeing.
West Wickham and Shirley Baptist Church exists not to judge, not to fix or rescue, but to come alongside and love one another. To see lives transformed.
In truth we are all broken in some ways and we can all learn from each other.
We have explored together over a series of Sundays how our lives might become more balanced and beautiful even from chaos and brokenness.
Each Sunday had a different message, topics such as: Anxiety, Depression, Shame, Perfectionism, Disappointment.
The series kicked off on 8th September with the founder of Kintsugi Hope - Patrick Regan. The series is available to listen to under Talks.
